Hylen Invoice is free, so there is nothing new to refund. This page covers payments made before it became free: plans running to the end of the period paid for, the refund rights a recent payment was made under, and what happens when a payment went wrong. It is part of the terms of service.

In short

Nothing is sold any more. Plans bought earlier are not renewed and are not charged again; each runs to the end of its current period, and time already paid for is not refunded. A payment made in the 14 days before Hylen became free on 14 October 2026, that day included, keeps the refund rights it was made under, until 28 October 2026. A duplicate charge, a payment that produced no working document, and any plan charged again by mistake come back in full.

1. Hylen is free

  1. 1.1
Since Hylen became free on 14 October 2026, Hylen Invoice sells nothing: making, editing and downloading documents is free. There is nothing new to refund. This page covers payments made before that change went live, including any made earlier that day, and any plan charged on or after it (clause 2.3).

2. Plans running to their end

  1. 2.1
Nothing renews. Billing on every monthly or yearly plan stopped on 14 October 2026, and you are not charged for a plan again. Each plan runs to the end of its current period, then ends; it is not renewed. There is nothing for you to cancel.
  2. 2.2
The time already paid for is not refunded. You keep it instead, until the end of that period. Clauses 3 and 4 are the exceptions, and so is any right the law where you live gives you (clause 6).
  3. 2.3
Charged again after all. If a plan is charged on or after 14 October 2026, tell us and that charge comes back in full, with nothing deducted.

3. Payments made in the last fourteen days before Hylen became free, that day included

  1. 3.1
A payment keeps the refund rights it was made under. Under the policy in force until Hylen became free on 14 October 2026, a document you paid for and have not downloaded is refunded in full if you ask within 14 days of paying, and a plan period on which you have downloaded nothing is refunded at 80 percent if you ask within 14 days of that payment. Both windows count from the payment, so the last of them closes on 28 October 2026.
  2. 3.2
Every download is recorded, so whether something was downloaded is a matter of record rather than of opinion. A download made before Hylen became free is recorded against the purchase or plan that permitted it. A free download made while signed in after that does not count as downloading something on a plan or a purchase.

4. When a past payment went wrong

  1. 4.1
Charged twice. Charged twice for the same document, or twice for the same plan period, the duplicate comes back in full with nothing deducted, whether or not anything was downloaded.
  2. 4.2
No working document. A payment that produced a PDF that was blank or unreadable, or none at all, comes back in full with nothing deducted. If you would sooner have the document, say so: downloading is free now, and we will help you get it.
  3. 4.3
A payment you did not make. Tell us at once at [email protected] and we will tell you exactly what was bought and when. Payments were taken by card through Stripe, so whether the charge itself is reversed is decided by your bank under its own rules; we will give it the records we hold and we will not stand in the way.

5. What is not refunded

  1. 5.1
A document you paid for and downloaded, outside clause 4. Nor is a mistake in what you typed: we do not check what you type. For 12 hours after you paid for a document you could edit it and download it again at no charge, and now any corrected version is simply a new document, which is free.
  2. 5.2
If we ended your access for making documents meant to deceive somebody, which the terms of service treats as the one rule we act on without warning, we do not refund what you spent.

6. Your legal rights

  1. 6.1
This page is our policy and it does not attempt to sign away a right you hold by law. If the consumer law of the country you live in entitles you to more than this page offers, you are entitled to it. Tell us where you are and what you think you are owed, and we will check it properly.
  2. 6.2
This page forms part of the terms of service, where section 4 covers what happened to plans and purchases when Hylen became free. If the two conflict, the terms prevail.

7. How to ask, and what comes back

  1. 7.1
Email [email protected] with the subject "Billing support" and any one of these: the retrieval code from your purchase email, the document id, the email address you paid with, or the date and amount of the charge. Any of them is normally enough to find the payment. We aim to reply within two working days.
  2. 7.2
A refund goes back through Stripe to the card you paid with, in US dollars. How long it takes to appear is a matter for your bank: usually a few working days, sometimes up to ten. Your bank may charge a fee to receive it or convert it at a different rate, and neither is in our hands.
  3. 7.3
A refund ends what it paid for. Where we refund a document in full, its retrieval code stops working at once. Downloading it while signed in stays free, like any other document.

8. Disputing a past charge with your bank

  1. 8.1
Please ask us first, and give us ten working days. A chargeback takes weeks and costs us a fee whichever way it goes, and where a refund is due we can usually issue it the same day. A purchase here may appear on your statement under our company name, Hylen Technologies LLC, rather than the name of the site. When a chargeback takes a payment back, the retrieval code it paid for stops working, exactly as on a refund. We keep a record of every download and will provide it in a dispute.
